Ride on the cloud and fly into imagination

Name: Ride on the cloud and fly into imagination
Artist: Chang Nai-Wen

Location: NCU Guest House
Year: 2009
Material: Marble, painted steel plate, stainless steel
Work Statement: Ride on the Cloud and Fly Into Imagination integrates the imagery of Eastern culture. With the pinecone berthing at the top of the cloud, referring the passage of time and the rise and fall of life. The motif of Chinese traditional curled clouds, and the seed similar to a censer, work together as figurative forms to recollect the memories of our life journey. Combining the embossed relief of cloud and metal and marble sculptures, Chang Nai-Wen’s work brings to the NCU Guest House a delightful space for surreal imagination and transcendental meditation.
