Organization

The Center for Humanities and Arts at National Central University (CHA) was established in February 2022. It integrated the former Art Center, The Humanities Center, and Kunqu Opera Museum, becoming a first-level administrative unit at NCU. In April 2026, CHA also undertook the phased tasks of promoting university history work and operating the NCU History Museum.

CHA is led by one director, who oversees the Center’s overall affairs. It consists of the Research and Planning Division, the Exhibition, Performance and Promotion Division, and the Kunqu Opera Museum, which are respectively responsible for humanities research and university history initiatives, exhibitions and performances, arts education and outreach, as well as the collection, research, and exhibition of Kunqu-related artifacts.

To promote cross-unit collaboration within NCU, CHA has established the cross-office Humanities and Arts Promotion Committee. It has also established an Advisory Committee, inviting scholars and experts from within and outside the university to provide recommendations on the Center’s development direction and exhibition and performance planning. In addition, the Committee for University History Compilation and Development oversees university history work and the operational direction of the NCU History Museum.
