The symphony of DNA
Name: The symphony of DNA
Artist: Yang Feng Shen
Location: Science Building 5
Year: 2005
Material: Stainless Steel Pipes
Work Statement: DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) is a double-spiral structure composed by two single-stranded molecules. These two single-stranded molecules run in opposite directions and are complementary with each other. In order to demonstrate the research achievements of the Department of Life Science, Yang Feng-Shen’s The Symphony of DNA adopted stainless steel to present a double-spiral structure with reality and abstraction interlaced, creating a visual effect full of rhythm and variation. Its surface would change by different streams and sources of light.
