Research and Planning Division
The predecessor of the Research and Planning Division can be traced back to the establishment of The Humanities Center at NCU. It was first conceived as a platform to promote academic exchange among faculty members of the College of Liberal Arts. At the end of 2001, the proposal for its establishment in principle was approved by the College Affairs Meeting, and in 2004, the university began preparations to establish it as a university-level research center.
On April 17, 2007, The Humanities Center was approved by the Ministry of Education and officially became a university-level research center. It was positioned as a research institute dedicated to promoting international and inter-university academic collaboration, as well as cultivating and recruiting outstanding talent. It was also one of the earliest humanities research centers established in Taiwan.
In response to NCU’s institutional development and adjustments to organizational tasks, the Division was renamed the Research and Planning Division in 2026 and took on responsibilities related to the NCU History Museum. Its main responsibilities include NCU’s development plans related to humanities and arts, the planning and organization of humanities and arts activities, the promotion of university history work, the operation of the NCU History Museum, the editing and publication of the Humanities NCU Series, and the publication of NCU CHA E-News.
The Research and Planning Division will continue to integrate humanities research, university history collections, editing and publication, and event planning. Through these efforts, it seeks to promote the development of humanities and arts on campus, while preserving, organizing, and presenting the historical memory and humanistic spirit of NCU from a more comprehensive perspective.
